We are a family business that began in 1998. Originally we provided bouncy castles and small marquee hire which was taken over by our fuel business in 2005. We bought a small industrial site on Seagrave Road, just ouside the village of Thrussington in Leicestershire in 2003. From here we started selling Calor Gas as we were using the bottles to heat our marquees. As we were busy in the summer and the marquees went quiet during winter we decided to sell coal and firewood, soon realising it was actually a lot harder than it first seemed!

There was lots of trial and error of how to store large quantities of logs so they could dry efficiently and didn’t go mouldy. Part way though this experimentation and when we thought we had it right, there was one customer that still said they were wet! Ahhh, so we branched into supplying Kiln-Dried firewood from an outside source. After lots of planning, we installed our own kiln and with much fine tuning of temperatures, log sizes and timings we are very proud of the products we produce and the service we provide.

The kiln was great and very efficient but it was fired using logs while we made mountains of sawdust that we didnt know what to do with. After much research at experimenting we now run our kiln totally sustainably from the swadust we generate. Happy to say we are now able to sell this system to other producers too.
